What's your favorite part about the construction industry? The people. Genuine, down-to-earth, and often incredibly talented in ways that surprise you. Construction is a unique blend of science and art, and it brings together individuals from all backgrounds to collaborate on something tangible. It's a team effort in the truest sense—and I have loved getting to know each member of the team.
What's the wildest reason a candidate didn't get the job? I had a client who used to leave trash on the lobby floor—on purpose. It was their secret “first test.” If a candidate walked in, saw the trash, and didn't pick it up… they were out. No interview, no second chance. Apparently, if you can't handle litter, you can't handle leadership.
What do you wish people knew about RCG? That we are normal people who genuinely want to make the hiring process a good experience for everyone. We care about our clients, we care about our candidates, and we will always do the right thing even when it’s difficult. RCG was created with the mindset to not use people to build a business, but to use a business to build people.

First Job: Waitress at a diner when I was 16…I loved it, but I’m still traumatized from dropping a full tray of drinks right in front of the table seating the restaurant owners.
What’s a fun or unusual item on your desk right now? You’ll always find a cold cup of coffee that I started and never finished along with tons of post-it notes filled with to-do lists because my days usually consist of organized chaos.

What's your favorite part about the construction industry? My favorite part about the construction industry is seeing something tangible come to life. Watching a project go from a dirt lot to a fully built structure is so cool to me. Years later, I can drive by a building and still remember the people involved, the challenges they overcame, and the way it all came together.
What's the wildest reason a candidate didn't get the job? One of my hiring managers years ago used to ask candidates in the interview “If you were a color, what color would you be?” and based on how they answered that question they either would or wouldn’t get the job.
What do you wish people knew about RCG? We lead with integrity and don’t chase commissions or inflate compensation numbers. We chase alignment and partnership. Our unique model keeps us invested long-term in every single placement, putting us all on the same team from start to finish.

What's your favorite part about the construction industry? How authentic the people are – more grit and less glitz. Building great buildings starts with building great teams and I really enjoy getting to connect with new people and learn new things every day.
What's the wildest reason a candidate didn't get the job? There should be a book of recruiting war stories but one of my favorites is “I can’t make the interview, there are sheep in my jobsite trailer.”
What do you wish people knew about RCG? We see the eyerolls when a recruiter walks into a construction event! We get it! Recruiters haven’t earned a spotless reputation and while it’s a necessary partnership for growing companies, it’s been categorized as a backdoor, quiet deal. We are not looking to infiltrate, scheme and poach – we always aim to build real relationships with clients and candidates to make the best matches based on technical skills and cultural values.
